Prehistoric and Natural Wonders - 08 Days / 07 Nights

01
  • Arrival at the Bandaranaike International airport, Katunayake
  • Meeting you on arrival – Our airport staff members will meet you and provide all assistance
  • Transfer to Colombo – You will be taken to the commercial capital, Colombo, which is approximately an hour’s drive from the airport.
  • Check in at the hotel in Colombo
  • After lunch, you’ll be taken on a sightseeing tour of the city of Colombo.
  • Drive through the city’s main commercial area, known as ‘Fort’, drive past bustling bazaars, National Museum Town Hall, Independence Square, the B.M.I.C.H (International Convention Centre), Cinnamon Gardens residential area
  • Visit a Buddhist Temple and a Hindu Kovil
  • Overnight stay at the hotel in Colombo.

  • After breakfast leave for Habarana, (172 km – approx. 4 hour drive), a small village which affords easy access to the Cultural Triangle, which boasts many UNESCO World Heritage Sites
  • Check in at a hotel.
  • Leave for Polonnaruwa, the 11th to 13th century capital of Sri Lanka, defended by enclosing walls, with numerous palaces, shrines, monasteries, pavilions and irrigation lakes
  • Leave for the 8,889 hectare Minneriya National Park( 29 km, approx. ½ hour drive) for a Jeep Safari through one of the best eco tourism location in Sri Lanka
  • Overnight stay at a hotel in Habarana

  • After breakfast, leave for Sigiriya (25 km – approx. ½ hour drive), described as the eighth wonder of the world, with partial remains of the palace and city complex and the famous frescoes of the ‘Heavenly maidens’
  • Leave for Kandy (92 km – approx. 3 hour drive). En route visit a Spice Garden in Matale.
  • Check in at the hotel in Kandy for overnight stay

  • After breakfast at hotel commence a sightseeing tour of Kandy, established around 1357–1374 CE). The City was the last seat of the Sinhala Kings
  • Visit the famous Temple of the Tooth Relic. This building houses the most sacred Tooth Relic of the Lord Buddha. More…
  • Drive past the University of Peradeniya
  • Visit the Market Square and Arts & Crafts Showroom.
  • Drive along the Upper Lake road for a view of the Kandy Lake built in 1807 which is an attractive centerpiece to the town.
  • Visit the famous Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya. View a rare collection of tropical exotic and indigenous flora including the famous Orchid House
  • During the month of July/August you will be able to watch the spectacular Esala Perahera, with caparisoned elephants, drummers, dancers
  • Enjoy the Kandyan Cultural Show at the Kandyan Arts & Cultural Centre. Performance by graceful and rhythmic dancers and drummers ending with a fire walking show.
  • Overnight stay at a hotel in Kandy.

  • Proceed to Bentota, a tourist resort in the south with the most beautiful, wide and sandy beaches. (185 km – approx. 5 hour drive)
  • Check in at a hotel followed by a full day of leisure on the beach. River cruise can be arrange upon request
  • Overnight stay at a hotel in Bentota.

  • Enjoy a leisurely day at the beach or undertake a half day river cruise and a visit to the Kosgoda Turtle hatchery

  • Leave to the Airport (96 km, approx. 2 ½ hour) for your departure. Our staff will accompany you to the Bandaranaike International Airport and help you complete all formalities.
